Over £6 million is being invested to repair and conserve monuments across Southampton.
A contractor has been appointed to carry out repairs to many of the city's historic landmarks.
Heritage monuments such as the Bargate and the Town Walls will have repairs done to make sure they stand the test of time.

The first phase of the work will start on June 5 and will include monuments like the Town Walls and St Mary's Churchyard.
Forty Steps near Western Esplanade will be closed to the public from early June and is expected to reopen later this summer.
The range of other monuments to be repaired or regenerated will include the castle vault and the west gate tower in the city centre.
