Noah Catanzaro found this fawn while visiting Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey on Memorial Day weekend, The fawn did not appear injured and Catanzaro left it alone; the following day the fawn was gone.

GODFREY — A Memorial Day weekend visit to a Godfrey cemetery provided a surprise.

Noah Catanzaro — the great grandson of World War II veteran John C. "Jack" Rain and the great, great-grandson of World War I veteran Clifford C. Rain — was visiting their grave site on Sunday, May 28, in the Valhalla Memorial Cemetery in Godfrey.

Upon nearing the grave, he discovered a newly born fawn lying at the base of the headstone.

John Rain, Catanzaro's grandfather, said the fawn did not look injured and his grandson left it alone. Rain said when he stopped by the grave site the next day, the fawn was gone.
